If you use debit or credit card in retail purchases in Brazil, you have probably used their green POS machines, since they serve more than 1 million clients in all regions in Brazil!

They’re headquartered in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro states, but they have more than 300 offices spread all over the country. With more than 6 thousand workers, they are a publicly traded company, valued over $2 billion in market cap.

With the objective of accelerating their tech initiatives, and in order to meet their client’s needs, Stone had the challenge of increasing their teams quickly. This was needed in order to start more internal tech projects and solutions.

After Team Assembly, a process where we analyze all interested candidates, interview them, select them and finally have a kickoff meeting (as well as ramp-up support), we started our continuous people management process. In this process, we maintain close contact with all people and teams already allocated, so we can support them in emerging challenges - and guarantee their evolution and commitment with Stone.

Our main concern is to assemble, allocate and to keep up with people who have a perfect fit for your challenges. We have an 84% success rate, which is extremely high! Our professionals can kickstart already aligned with your company’s purpose, and they want to help you build something bigger. They have responsibility, commitment, and long term orientation.

However, in cases where someone might end up not having the ideal fit, we practice what we call proactive people upskilling: we map their gaps, then create a professional and personal development plan, and keep up with them, their progress, and their checkpoints.

This practice is essential all the time, but it is even more critical when dealing with minority groups.

And in cases where our professionals still cannot reach your required performance, we will substitute professionals, with no extra cost.

In a red-hot tech job market, it’s fundamental to know how to deal with people leaving for other opportunities, and we act in strategic synch with your company.

Our turnover rate is 12% a year, which is, in itself, very low.

When we take into consideration the outsourcing services industry, this rate is extremely low. In fact, our allocated people turnover rate is usually lower when compared to our client’s internal team turnover rates. This is one of the reasons why we have clients working with us for 7 years already.

However, if one of our allocated people informs us that they are leaving for another opportunity, we are usually not caught surprised. Our continuous people management team is very close to our professionals, and we can deal proactively when this situation arises. Therefore, potential or future substitution cases can be planned with our clients.

We usually substitute professionals in sync (e.g. someone leaves, and another person immediately takes over). However, in case this is not possible, we will not charge you while a new person is not duly allocated and working with you.

Yes! We fully understand that high growth companies who are in a digital transformation process, causing high social impacts, will naturally need to increase their internal teams too.

This is why we do not impede hiring our allocated professionals. Even more so when allocated people wish to be internalized.

Many of our clients internalize our allocated people so they can be promoted to leadership roles, or in other cases our people consistently deliver results above average and our clients wish to have them directly hired - or even in other cases our clients want to hit goals on ESG strategies or headcount. And this is fine! 👍

After our initial contract period is finished, you can decide whether you want to continue using our services, or if you want to hire people directly.

We process all CVs, we interview all people, we apply all tests, we map all gaps, we discuss shortlists, and go over soft and hard skill balances, we select the best fitted candidates, gather information on security and system’s access, on-board, and participate in the kickoff meeting with you on the professional’s first day.

Beyond that, during the first few weeks we follow up with our people daily, so we can support the ramp-up process, quickly solve questions, and minimize communication noise - a natural thing when people are starting.

Why do we do this?

Sometime ago I decided to kickstart this initiative here at Impulso because I’ve noticed that even though I’m a woman, and one who has been silenced in workplaces before, I still occupy a privileged position. I will never personally know how people who belong to minority groups feel when they go through much worse situations when compared to what I have lived through.

Therefore, as a woman, a mother, and a businesswoman, I used my influence and position of power within the company that I helped to build (and that I love so much), to take concrete actions. A real action, channeling the things that we know how to do best: unite human and tech in order to create genuine relationships. Relationships that overcome barriers and frontiers.

Mergulhão, Mira and I - business partners, friends, and life buddies - are so happy to turn this initiative into reality! It has the potential to generate positive social change and, maybe, inspire other companies. Even if just a little!
